PRIVACY POLICY
The List — EMSHospitalList Inc.

This Privacy Policy applies to "The List" mobile application for Apple iOS and Google Android, operated by EMSHospitalList Inc.
The short version: The List was built to be private. There is no account to create, no ads, no analytics or tracking, and we do not sell your data. Almost everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
1. Who we are
The List is operated by EMSHospitalList Inc. ("we," "us," “our").

2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store personal information about you on our servers. The app has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any advertising identifier. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking software.
3. Location
With your permission, the app uses your device's approximate and/or precise location to sort nearby hospitals and emergency veterinarians by distance and to show how far away they are. Your location is used only on your device, in real time, and only while the app is open (foreground). It is never sent to us or to any third party, and it is not saved after it is used. The app never accesses your location in the background. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings; the rest of the app continues to work, you simply won't see distance-based sorting.
4. Notes and data you create
Any notes you add (such as a radio channel, ED door code, or EMS room) and the list of regions you choose to download are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app removes them.
5. Reference data and network use
To provide hospital and veterinary reference information, the app downloads encrypted data files over a secure HTTPS connection from our content host (Amazon Web Services S3). These requests are required to deliver the data. As with any internet request, our hosting provider may record standard technical information (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and reliability; this is not used to identify you, and the app sends no personal information in these requests. Downloaded data is cached on your device so it remains available offline.
6. Phone, maps, and email hand-offs
When you tap a phone number, address, or email link, the app hands the action to your device's own dialer, maps, or email application so you can confirm and complete it. We do not place calls, open maps, or send email ourselves, and we do not transmit that information to our servers. Those apps are governed by their own privacy policies.
7. Permissions we request
• Location (precise/approximate): on-device distance and proximity sorting, foreground
only — never in the background.
• Internet and network state: to download reference data over HTTPS.
8. Children
The app is intended for professional and adult use and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
Reference data is protected with AES-256-GCM encryption in transit and in the on-device cache. Because we do not maintain personal information about you on our servers, there is no personal profile for us to lose.
10. Your choices and rights
You can revoke location permission at any time, and you can clear all locally stored data through your device's app settings. Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights regarding personal data; however, because we do not collect or retain personal data about you on our servers, there is generally no such data for us to access, correct, or delete. 11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the Effective Date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app.
