MaydaySOS Privacy Policy
EMSHospitalList Inc. ("EMSHospitalList," "we," "us") provides the MaydaySOS mobile application. This policy explains what MaydaySOS does with information. It matches the Privacy section of the agreement shown inside the app.
Summary
MaydaySOS has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not collect your personal information, and we do not sell, share, or disclose it to anyone. What you enter stays on your iPhone.
What stays on your device
The age and sex you enter, your language and appearance preferences, your acceptance of the user agreement, and the record of which facility data you have downloaded are stored on your device only. They are not transmitted to EMSHospitalList. We never see them.
Your location
MaydaySOS uses your position on the device itself to show your coordinates, to choose the right local emergency number, to select the language the message is spoken in, and to order hospitals by distance. Your position is not transmitted to EMSHospitalList.
Address and place-name lookup
When you have a network connection, MaydaySOS asks your iPhone's own Apple mapping service to turn your coordinates into a street address and place name. That request goes to Apple and is handled under Apple's privacy terms, not ours. If you have no connection, MaydaySOS shows your coordinates without an address.
The microphone
MaydaySOS never records audio. iOS asks for microphone permission only so the spoken emergency message can be forced out of the phone's loudspeaker when headphones or earbuds are connected. No recording is made, stored, or transmitted, and the app contains no recording capability.
Hospital data downloads
When you download a continent's hospital data, your iPhone requests files from a content delivery network we operate. As with any request to any website, the standard server logs for that network may record ordinary technical information such as the IP address of the requesting device, the time, and which file was requested. We do not use this information to identify you and we do not combine it with anything else. The data files themselves are encrypted and signature-checked before your device will open them.
Purchases
Hospital access is sold one continent at a time and is processed entirely by Apple. Apple handles payment; EMSHospitalList never receives or stores your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID so that it can be restored on your devices.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking
MaydaySOS contains no analytics software, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not use the advertising identifier and does not ask for permission to track you across apps or websites. It has no third-party software components at all.
Children
MaydaySOS is intended solely for individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and because the app collects no personal information at all, none is collected from anyone.
Your rights
Because MaydaySOS collects no personal information about you, there is nothing held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your own device. Deleting the app removes all of it. If you have a question about this, write to us using the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the Last Updated date above will change with it, and the revised policy will appear in the app. Your continued use of MaydaySOS after that date means you accept the revised policy.
