MaydaySOS Support
MaydaySOS helps you get emergency help in a country whose language you can’t read. It shows where you are, helps you call the local emergency number, and speaks a message on your behalf in the local language.

Common questions
What does MaydaySOS do for free?
Your location, street address, GPS coordinates, the call button for the local emergency number, and the spoken emergency message are free. You don’t need to buy hospital data to access these features. Availability depends on your device permissions, location services, voice support, and network conditions.
What do I pay for?
Hospital lists are sold one continent at a time. Buying an available continent lets you download its hospitals and find the nearest one, including when you have no signal. Download the data before you travel.
Does MaydaySOS record me?
No. The app never records audio. On iPhone, microphone permission is requested only so the spoken message can play through the phone’s loudspeaker when headphones or earbuds are connected.
Why does it need my location?
To show where you are, choose the right emergency number for the country you’re in, and put your address and coordinates into the message that rescuers and bystanders hear.
I paid for a continent but I can’t see it.
iPhone: Open the purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so use the same account that made the purchase.
Android: Check that Google Play is signed in to the account used for your purchase. If the continent still isn’t available in the app, email us with the continent name and your device details so we can help.
A continent says “Not available yet, coming soon.”
That continent’s hospital data isn’t published yet. MaydaySOS is starting with North America and Australia / Oceania, and more are on the way. Check availability in the app before purchasing.
What languages does it speak?
The message is spoken in the local language of the country you’re in. Where that language isn’t supported by your phone’s speech system, MaydaySOS uses an alternative language people there are likely to understand. Voice availability can vary by device and platform.
The hospital list won’t download.
Check that you have a data connection and try again. If it keeps failing, email us and tell us which country you’re in, which continent you’re downloading, and whether you use iPhone or Android.

MaydaySOS uses your location for the features described above. The app does not record audio. The iPhone microphone permission supports loudspeaker playback; it is not used to record your voice.
You can review and change app permissions in your phone’s settings. Restricting location access affects location-dependent features. When you play an emergency message aloud, people nearby may hear the address and coordinates included in that message.

MaydaySOS is not a substitute for calling emergency services. Always call for help first. Hospital information can be incomplete or out of date, and you should follow the directions of local responders.
Offline hospital access requires a completed download. A downloaded list does not provide a phone connection or guarantee that a facility can treat your condition.
